Stake and unstake

Staking turns USDh into sUSDh. One transaction to stake. To leave, you ask to unstake, wait 30 days, then claim your USDh.

No minimum, no account and no identity check. Staking is not offered in restricted countries.

What staking does#

When you stake, your USDh goes into the staking contract and you get sUSDh back. The dollars behind it are lent to other governments, in dollars, instead of the US government. Those governments pay more interest, and that interest pays for the rewards. They also carry more risk. See Where rewards come from.

Stake#

  1. 1
Open Stake. In the app, enter how much USDh to stake. The app shows how much sUSDh you get: the USDh you stake divided by the sUSDh price.
  2. 2
Check the details. Under the button: the exchange rate (for example, 1 sUSDh = 1.019 USDh), the staking fee (zero) and the exit period (30 days).
  3. 3
Confirm. Approve USDh the first time, then press Stake and confirm in your wallet.
  4. 4
Watch it grow. Your sUSDh shows in Portfolio. The number of sUSDh you hold stays the same. What each one is worth in USDh goes up as rewards build up.

Unstake#

  1. 1
Ask to unstake. In Portfolio, press Unstake and choose how much sUSDh. Your sUSDh is burned and the USDh you will get, including the rewards built up so far, is fixed at that moment’s price. From then on, no more rewards build up on it.
  2. 2
Wait 30 days. You can see the countdown in Portfolio.
  3. 3
Claim. When the wait ends, press Claim and your USDh, with its rewards, comes to your wallet. Nothing is paid automatically. You claim it.

Two things to plan around:

  • Asking again restarts the clock. If you ask to unstake more while you are already waiting, both amounts join into one, and the 30 days start again for all of it. If timing matters, claim first, then ask again.
  • Your price is fixed when you ask. Any rise in the sUSDh price after you ask does not apply to what you are waiting for.

Fees#

No staking or unstaking fee. You pay only the Ethereum network fee.
